The Welcome Experience
Delivered in Albury, Greater Hume and Federation LGAs by RDA Murray.
The Welcome Experience is a free service supporting essential workers (and their families) who are considering applying for or have accepted a job in regional NSW. RDA Murray delivers this service across Albury, Greater Hume and Federation councils.
Local Connectors can help new employees with the life stuff, everything from the practicalities of finding housing, choosing childcare, exploring job opportunities for partners or even introducing you to your neighbours! The Welcome Experience connects essential workers and their families with local support, helping them settle in, feel at home, and thrive in our region.
Who Is Eligible?
Government employees of the following NSW agencies:
- Corrective Services NSW
- Department of Communities & Justice
- Fire & Rescue NSW
- NSW Ambulance
- NSW Department of Education
- NSW Health
- NSW Police Force
- NSW Rural Fire Service.
Non-government employees in the following industries:
- Aged care

Designed to ease the transition into regional life, the program supports your new recruits beyond the workplace by helping them build a life in the community. Whether it’s securing housing, finding a school or childcare, connecting with social groups or local services, our Local Connectors are here to make that move easier.
Our trained Local Connectors provide one-on-one support to essential workers relocating to the Albury, Federation or Greater Hume LGAs. From recommending removalists and real estate agents, to flagging the best weekend markets, sporting clubs or community networks—our team helps new arrivals feel at home, faster.
This community-based support complements your internal onboarding processes, offering additional support that can improve staff wellbeing, retention, and long-term engagement.
